In leading up to our DIY Witch Boxes skillshare with The Varmints (Critter, Pigeon and me! Otter), I want to share a little about why I’m not using white sage or the term “smudge.” Most importantly, I respect indigenous traditions and the plants they hold sacred.
There’s a deeper issue, though, and it’s one we can learn from indigenous cultures throughout the world. The practice of smoke purification is inextricably rooted in a deep relationship with the plant allies of a particular place. There’s no reason to force a long distance relationship when you have plant allies all around you.
Come learn about some beautiful friends growing in our region, as well as a few buddies readily available with your groceries. Everyone will leave with a little bit of peace of mind in a box, as well as some sweet centering practices.
